La Puente Motorcycle Accident resulting in Broken Leg & Other Injuries

At 3:40 pm on  February 15th 2009,  a woman crashed her motorcycle around 16100 Central Avenue. She hit a pole after she apparently lost control of her motorcycle.  She suffered a broken leg among other injuries.

I want to offer compassion for Ms. Ana Hernandez and her family.   I wish for her a speedy recovery from the accident and hope there is no permanent damage.  I pray she did not suffer a head injury in the motorcycle accident as the damage from a head injury can be permanent.  There is no substitute for a helmet that satisfies DOT standards.  Even with a DOT approved helmet, there is no substitute for basic motorcycle safety, which includes licensing, knowing your motorcycle, practice to handle special situations like emergency braking and blowouts, and increasing your visibility to other vehicles.
